FAQs

Amelia Ann in her element styling and modelling pre-loved clothing in a campaign for RSPCA QLD.

I’m just starting out, is this right for me now? Yes, Spree with Me is right for you even if you’re just starting out. You can even use Spree with Me as your sole website as you get a custom URL for your own profile page.

Do I need my own professional social media? No, but it helps. The more you promote with links to your Spree with Me experiences, the more traction you’ll gain - especially at the beginning until you get a couple of great reviews and client photos.

What is the percentage commission? You keep 85% of your asking price. We receive 15%. Customers pay at time of booking and the money goes into Stripe, a third party holding. When your Spree is completed, we both get paid.

Can you guarantee me clients? There’s no retainer or guarantee but it’s in our interests to support you to get clients - Spree with Me doesn’t make money unless you do! I will work with you when you want to invest your time with me, and I guarantee to take actions to heighten your success.

Can I still have my own private clients? Yes, you can maintain clients you find privately through your own channels.

Can I receive commission from stores my customers purchase from? No. Nobody wants to feel like they went to a shop just because you get a kick-back. And it’s against our guidelines. If we, or you, are privy to any purchase discounts, we recommend you pass these onto your client. It also supports happy customers and great ratings.

Are there any lock-in contracts? No, you may leave at any time. We are very flexible in that you can pause your bookings if you need to, such as for a holiday, family or other work commitments. Just let us know. We do not reimburse annual membership fees.

What does the annual membership fee cost and cover? When we receive your application, we’ll book a call to discuss the value benefit information and send you the info.

How are you different from agencies? Unlike the old way of working with a styling agency, we’re extremely transparent and we promote all our stylists individually. We encourage you to get to know the other stylists on the platform, we have automatic payment systems in place. You choose your pricing, where and how you work. We retain a reduced percentage of your income in comparison to agencies.

Rather, we are a marketplace - the ‘AirBnB of personal stylists’. You can use our website independently to run your business and sell your experiences via this website. We help you to create and promote new styling experiences to new people. We provide coaching and can help you shape your content and find your niche markets. Our services include business administration support, marketing, advertising, opportunities to collaborate with our partners, and much more! We can also help you expand your service offerings, such as offering private shopping tours. {see benefits above and here}

What’s a good price point? The sky’s the limit for the maximum you can earn. $120 per hour is our recommended rate. We anticipate between $50 and $150per hour. Be sure that your fee suitably reflects:

  • Your years of experience

  • Your qualifications and credentials

  • Your target market

  • Minimum number of hours for your experience

  • Your inside-knowledge about the location or subject matter or personal connections at the locations you visit

  • Other X-factor benefits – do you arrange outfits ready in a dressing rooms upon arrival, do you pull items and offer delivery, do you help with tailoring, do you pre-arrange chilled champagne ready for your arrival?

  • Time spent pre-shop. Eg, the preloved styling sessions do not include a pre-shop and are therefore less expensive.

If you’re not sure, start low and increase it over time with great reviews.
